After extensive rebuilding and additions, including the excavation of a sandstone outcrop, there was a clean slate for the new rear contemporary courtyard design of this Inner West worker’s cottage in Balmain, Sydney.

The client had a clear brief for the courtyard and requested a practical and eye catching contemporary outdoor garden landscape entertaining area, including storage space, a pull out clothesline and a play area for their three children.

To compliment the interior colour scheme of the home, they also wanted the pink, mauve and purple feature colours of the interior design scheme to be incorporated into the courtyard design.
